Let me tell you a little more about who I am.
Hi, let me formally introduce myself, my name is Uriel Hernandez Alvarez.
From an early age, I have always considered myself to be a very creative person and enjoyed creating things. Throughout elementary and then high school, I always excelled in my art classes. Anytime there was a project that involved some creativity, I would also find myself giving it my all. Sometimes I would go a little overboard, but I see that as a positive because it pushed me to develop my creative side further.
While in high school, I was originally going to become a veterinarian and almost went into animal biology at the University of Guelph. In the summer before the fall after graduating from high school, I quickly changed my mind. I always had a gut feeling that I should go into a program that would rely on being creative and pushing me to develop my skills in that area of focus. Despite spending the last two years in high school focusing on classes mainly in the science area, I felt that I would come to regret it later in my life if I didn't do this. So I enrolled into Humber College and the rest is history.
Fast forward 4 years later, I now have a Media Communications college diploma and a Bachelor of Digital Communications degree. Both of these programs have taught me the necessary skills, practices, and knowledge to be successful in whichever way my career takes me. As a part of both programs I have gained the following skills:
Photography (Outdoor & Studio)
Graphic Design
Motion Graphics
Videography
Video editing
Web design
Marketing
Media Writing
Social media management & analytics
During my time at Humber College, I have gained experience working in both the retail and esports/gaming industry where I have put my skills learned in the classroom to the real world. Iām confident in my abilities as a digital creative to achieve the highest quality of work in anything that I do. As I continue to grow professionally, I am committed to keep developing my skills and abilities. The possibilities of where my skills as a creative could take me are endless as I strive to contribute to the world in any way I can.
